Felicity Jones, Director James Marsh on 'The Theory of Everything' and Nailing the Perfect Chemistry

Felicity Jones, James Marsh Interview: 'The Theory of Everything'

Putting the life of Stephen Hawking and his first wife, Jane Wilde, on screen is challenging enough -- but to do it with such success is a true feat. "The Theory of Everything" director James Marsh and his leading lady Felicity Jones (as Wilde) both deliver amazing performances: one behind the camera and the other in front.

"The Theory of Everything" begins with Hawking (played brilliantly by Eddie Redmayne) in college, where he meets Wilde under unfortunate circumstances. He's suffering the early symptoms of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Wilde doesn't even flinch at the affliction. Their love story blossoms from there.

Moviefone Canada spoke to Jones and Marsh at the Toronto Film Festival, where we talked about the casting of the two leads, what the real Jane Wilde is like, and how much this role has affected Jones personally.

"The Theory of Everything" opens in select theatres on Friday, November 7.
