Miles Teller Joins Forces With 'Spider-Man' Director for Indie Drama

From indie to "Insurgent" and back again, Miles Teller is everywhere we want to be. The up-and-coming actor is in talks for a starring role in Marc Webb's "The Only Living Boy in New York," which is about a guy who ends up entangled with his father's mistress. Talk about "That Awkward Moment"! Logan Lerman was attached to star way back in 2011, but that never quite happened.

Webb's most recent projects have been "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," neither of which particularly wowed fans. "Living Boy" would be a return to form for Webb; the writer/director made his name with "(500) Days of Summer," a good-natured indie romcom with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. (Sony's put a pin in the "Spider-Man" franchise, so Webb's got some time to pursue something a little smaller for the time being.) This would also be an opportunity for Teller to take a breather between big budget films and do what he does best: charming us all silly in more intimate settings.

Miles Teller's latest film, "Whiplash," hit theaters in October. He plays the drums while JK Simmons yells at him, and it's great.
