If you've been eagerly counting down the days until "Star Wars: Episode VII" hits theaters, prepare to become even more impatient: One of the stars of the original trilogy says the new installment may top the best film in the series.
Anthony Daniels -- who's played android C-3PO since "A New Hope" debuted in 1977, and is reprising his role for "Episode VII" -- revealed in a post on Twitter this week that he thinks the new flick could be better than "The Empire Strikes Back," the second "Wars" film and the movie considered by most to be the golden standard of George Lucas's epic franchise. "'No movie sequel is better than The Empire Strikes Back.' You might eat those words for Xmas dinner in 2015," Daniels wrote.

Obviously, that's a big boast, and Daniels is no doubt a bit biased, since he's starring in "Episode VII." But still, "Empire" is so revered by "Wars" fans that the actor must have carefully considered the consequences of promising such high quality before hitting "post." That he feels so confident about the flick speaks volumes -- and makes us even more anxious for its debut.
"Star Wars: Episode VII," directed by J.J. Abrams, is due in theaters on December 18, 2015.
