Back in 2009 (yes, it's been five long years), two movies about mall security guards opened in cinemas nationwide. One of them, "Observe and Report," was brilliant and subversive and almost terrifyingly dark. It bombed. Never to be heard from again (and, really, nobody talks about that movie). The other, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," featured a fat man falling down a lot, and was a box office sensation, whose sequel is coming out in the spring of next year. That's right - "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" is on the way, and to prepare, why don't you take a look at the tasty new trailer?
The new movie is set not at a mall but at the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas (the first commercial film ever granted access to film in Steve Wynn's casino)... Which makes the title of the movie kind of irrelevant. From the looks of it, our Segway-riding hero is attending some kind of security guard convention, when an evil genius (played by Neal McDonough, who was so wonderfully weird and menacing in "Justified" as a Dixie mafia operative) plans to rob the casino. So imagine "Ocean's Eleven" but with a fat guy running into stuff.
