The Trailer for 'Birdman Returns' Brings Us Back to the '90s

Folks are going wild for "Birdman," which stars Michael Keaton as a faded action star who's giving Broadway a go. Keaton's Riggan Thomson quit the biz after the "Birdman" sequel in 1992, and when Alejandro González Iñárritu's modern-day movie catches up with him, he's trying to restart his career by taking it to the stage.



Fox Searchlight has cooked up a nifty fake trailer for Thomson's "Birdman Returns," which riffs on Keaton's real-life performance as Batman in Tim Burton's awesomely creepy "Batman" and "Batman Returns," which came out in, you guessed it, 1992. This trailer even has the look of a slightly older film, right down to the older model police cruisers. Hmmm, now where did we put that old VHS copy of "Batman Returns"?
