Here's Your First Terrifying Look at Ultron From 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (PHOTO)

ew age of ultron coverWe had a lot of questions when details dropped about "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Who is Ultron? What does he do? Will we get to see James Spader in the flesh, or will his robot suit cover up his lovely punim? (Some of us were imprinted by "Pretty in Pink" as a tween, thank you.) Well, Entertainment Weekly has the first look at "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and it answers a few of our questions.

First of all, Ultron looks like a shiny, scary robot; on the cover of the magazine, he's glowering from behind Robert Downey Jr. in his Iron Man suit and Chris Evans in his Captain America get-up. As it turns out, Spader's performance is all mo-cap, and though this info is a little disappointing, it does make sense that the sleek AI system wouldn't look at all human. Especially since his main goal is wiping out all humans.

Whedon told the mag, "Ultron sees the big picture and he goes, 'Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better'; he's not just going 'Muhaha, soon I'll rule!'" He added that the baddie is "on a mission... He wants to save us."

That doesn't sound like any sort of saving we want, thank you! In any case, it stands to reason that we'll be getting more information about Ultron next week during SDCC. The adorable Mark Ruffalo confirmed that the entire freaking cast of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be putting in an appearance during Marvel's panel in Hall H on July 26 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. PT. Stay tuned.
