There's some good news coming out of TCA 2014 for fans of Showtime's CIA drama "Homeland." First of all, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and her wine-drinkin' ways will be returning to TV on October 5, kicking off the fourth season of the award-winning show.
As the teaser below shows, Carrie's off to Pakistan and Afghanistan for a new job that's just as dangerous as the old one. You can tell that she's still full of vim and vigor despite her heartbreak over Brody because she tells someone to "get the f**k out of my face." Saul (Mandy Patinkin) is also back, although he's no longer with the CIA as per the end of last season; we're glad he's still working with Carrie in whatever capacity, because his bearded punim is always a welcome sight! However, what some fans will be most interested to know is that Dana Brody (Morgan Saylor) will not be returning for this season.
We repeat: Dana Brody will not be returning. Executive producer Alex Gansa told the TCA panel attendees, "I can say unequivocally that Dana Brody will not be back." In the past, Saylor has been pretty cool about the online hate directed towards her character; she told The Daily Beast, "I think it's cool to provoke something in people." Of course, it makes sense that Dana and the rest of the Brody family won't be back on the show after everything that happened last season. (More details are divulged about season four over at EW.)
Let's hope she's not the only Brody we won't be seeing any more of.
